york hall
Opened in 1934 by HRH The Duchess of York, the York Hall is a magnificent oak panelled room suitable for large events. The flexible layout allows for the room to be used for several different purposes to suit your requirements. Fitted with advanced audio-visual equipment and benefitting from high spec sound and lighting technology, the York Hall is the perfect location for any event, whether you are planning a grand banquet, concert, wedding reception or conference.
Lawnside room
Formerly the lounge of the Imperial Hotel, this light-infused space is the perfect option for smaller, more intimate gatherings including: private dinners, conferences, product launches, drinks receptions and more. The room benefits from an abundance of natural light through the beautiful floor to ceiling windows which look up to the stunning Malvern Hills. Fitted with audio-visual equipment and a large screen, this space can be used in a number of ways to suit your requirements
Drama studio
Our purpose-built Drama Studio is the perfect location for any theatre or performance group. The space contains retractable seating for up 90 adults (110 children) and benefits from a high-tech sound and lighting gallery. This large, dynamic space can also be used to host parties, drinks receptions and dinners and provides a modern, accessible space for any meeting or gathering.
Abbey room
The Abbey Room is located on the upper level of the school, and as such benefits from some stunning views across the hills. The original architectural features of this room provide a wealth of character. Spacious yet intimate, with full screen projection facilities and a refreshment area, this room suits lectures, private meetings, and conferences.
The library
Mirroring the impressive features detailed in the York Hall, the Library is an impressive space with stunning oriel windows at either end which provides a light and spacious room. The Library is versatile with access to audio-visual equipment which provides an excellent location for workshops and seminars.
The alice dining room
The Alice Dining Room is an impressive, purpose-built space where guests can enjoy self-service hot and cold food in the comfort of our modern, spacious dining room. Suitable for meetings, conferences, parties and drinks receptions, this room is versatile and able to adapt to the needs of your event. The Alice Dining Room can accommodate audio-visual as required.
The classrooms
Our classrooms are a great space for learning, meeting and collaborating and can be used for a number of purposes. Most are featured on the upper floors of the school and so benefit from wonderful views and stunning scenery. Our spaces can be used for groups of up to 30 people. Several of our rooms are classed as Smart classrooms, and as such are technologically enhanced to enable enhanced teaching and learning opportunities. All rooms benefit from a projector screen and white board.
sports facilities
MSJ Sports & Fitness Centre was opened by Sally Gunnell OBE and has a host of fantastic facilities available to hire.
The centre benefits from ample parking, air conditioning, state-of-the-art equipment, climbing wall and a range of standard and international specification sports courts.
The swimming pool is adorned with traditional murals, and is 24m x 8m in size.
Our portfolio of Sports Facilities also includes a Dance Studio, Sports Hall, floodlit synthetic pitch and The Dome, a versatile indoor sports centre which boasts a beautiful, moated garden area, perfect for outdoor events and gatherings.
MSJ Sports Facilities cater for a wide variety of sports and activities including Hockey, Lacrosse, Climbing, Badminton, Netball, Football, Rugby, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Short tennis, Martial Arts, Trampolining and Squash. The facilities can be hired by sports clubs and individuals for regular or one-off bookings.
Music Centre
Located just 250 yards from the main building, the Music Centre is available to music groups for tuition and rehearsals. Set in a quiet and quirky 19th century villa, this dedicated space is ideal for groups wanting a designated space for practice and/or rehearsal. Pianos, a keyboard and drum kit are all available. Please note that groups are required to provide their own handheld instruments.
